BEASTLY THEORIES - is a low tech, low key, low brow endeavour, hosted by author of Beasts of Britain & Beasts of the World book series - Andy McGrath, as an attempt to discuss the highs and lows of paranormal research and obsession. Although ’podcast’ in name, the ’show’ is more of an exercise in nepotism, as Andy seeks conversation with those embroiled in the subject he is chiefly interested in, and determines to avail himself (and you) of the prize of knowledge that lies inside their brawny brains.

Jean St. Jean is a musician turned sculptor, who began his career in a small upstate NY toy sculpting studio doing mostly preschool toys and dolls. Five years later he joined McFarlane Toys quickly assuming the mantle of Sculpting Supervisor. In 2004, he forged Jean St. Jean Studios, L.L.C., offering sculpting, painting and prototyping. He has worked on such properties as Diamonds Select’s Stargate and Battlestar Galactica toy lines, Batman 1966 figural busts, Marvel statues and action figures, Universal Monsters and Munsters action figures and Sin City toys. He’s also contributed to product lines for such properties as World of Warcraft For DC Direct/Blizzard, and Thundercats, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Nightmare on Elm Street for Mezco Toyz. Creatureplica is his first foray into an original toy line, partnered up with Jeffrey Beyers, Nick Epley and Craig Deere of Pana, Illinois. His Creatureplica action figure designs and his original creature busts and statues under Jean St. Jean studios represent decades of interest in the pursuit of the world’s most elusive creatures, capturing their folkloric images in three dimensions to create the world’s most realistic cryptozoological sculptures!

Joining us today is noted folklorist and cryptozoologist - Ronald L. Murphy. Ron is a renowned speaker and the author of several books, including several on our beloved cryptids, like Bigfoot, Dogman, Faeries, Vampires, as well as many other paranormal pursuits and even a book two books of poetry!
As always, I really enjoyed chatting with Ron, who never fails to impress with his seamless deep knowledge of history, myth & legend and his ability to draw very logical lines between modern and ancient accounts, which tie in the superstitious to the surprised witnesses of our modern era.

Wednesday Apr 03, 2019
I recently had a great chat with Finding Bigfoot's very own phenomenon himself, James Bobo Fay.
A larger than life cast member from the series, which ran for 9 seasons between 2011 - 2018, Bobo has been researching bigfoot since the 1980s and took a little time to fill me in on the details of his early descent into solo squatchpeditions, his nerve-racking experiences of Bigfoot in the field, the pitfalls of corporate cryptozoology, his upcoming new podcast with 'BF hetero-life partner, Cliff Barackman and expedition do's and don'ts, for walking the wilds!
You can find Bobo here or see him at a conference near you, here!

Beastly Theories (Episode 10) Monica Rawlins - Suburban Dogman
Thursday Mar 21, 2019
Thursday Mar 21, 2019
Monica Rawlins is an experienced outdoorswoman with an extensive background in cryptozoological research and the paranormal. She has been a field researcher for over 17 years and has traveled across the U.S. to conduct her research. She’s worked extensively in television, and radio, where her quick wit and a no-nonsense attitude toward research and evidence has garnered her a solid fan base.
Having grown up in Northern California, with summers in remote SW Oregon, Monica has many stories of possible close encounters with unknown cryptids and in early winter of 2014, she had a life-changing Dogman sighting. All focus since that encounter has shifted almost exclusively to this pursuit.
While her main research recently has been dedicated to the search for Bigfoot and Dogman, Monica has also kept an active interest in all things cryptozoological and paranormal. Her points of interest and knowledge are Native American legends with a focus on Skinwalkers and Windego. When time permits, Monica also researches and investigates ghosts and hauntings in the North Texas Area. In addition to Monica’s paranormal investigations in Texas, she also has extensive knowledge of hauntings and legends of the British Isles.

Jonathan David Whitcomb is a cryptozoology author and researcher and founder of the group Living Pterosaurs. He has braved the jungles of Papua New Guinea in search of the elusive Ropen and Indava and investigated and interviewed eyewitness of 'alleged' living pterosaurs around the globe. His book ‘Searching for Ropens and Finding God’ is a great read for anyone interested in this lesser-known area of cryptozoology and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in these strange sightings of alleged living pterosaurs in our modern era.
